In the often bizarre and twisted views of the modern left wing, much hypocrisy can be clearly seen. In the last few decades, society has become more and more equal in the eyes of the left wing elite. I see it as more and more cockeyed. If I hit a black man, it's called a hate crime. If a black guy hits me, he had a troubled youth, and deserves our sympathy. This is what the left refers to as equality.
Liberals love double standards. The rules for them are different then the rules for the rest of us. Bill Clinton can lie under oath, but somehow in the left's eyes, that is viewed as "just sex"... What? Does that even make sense? I'm not even talking about his sick behavior in office. I'm talking about perjury. Apparently it's all right if a liberal commits a serious crime. But if President Bush accidentally fumbles a word, it's time to make a big stink. Bush has been accused of being stupid, of being a Nazi, of killing innocent people, of lying to start a war with Iraq (the reason – either to settle his father's score, or to get more oil… depending on who you ask), etc. You name the injustice; the left accuses him of it. They make up these crazy scenarios and run with it, often repeating the same old arguments.
Not even an attack by a foreign enemy can shock them back into reality. After the “united we stand, America” spirit subsided after 9/11, the loony left was waiting in the wings to blame the tragedy on George W. Claims that Bush knew about the plot against the World Trade Center long before it happened, even radical claims that Bush planned the attacks, run rampant. These people are wandering so far from reality it's frightening.
I view many of these nut jobs on the left as not just out of touch, but insane. They provide no hard proof for any of these accusations. That we haven't found WMDs in Iraq is all the evidence they need the Bush lied. And they make no acknowledgement that we now have proof that Saddam moved his weapons into Syria during the nine months of warning prior to the coalition invasion. Hell, he even gets blamed for global warming and melting the ozone… and he must be good, because the same thing is happening on Mars.
Of course, none of this is real. It's all within the heads of the left-wingers. They can't find hope in reality, and therefore search the extreme fringe for the answer. I often wonder if they consult mental patients for their next talking point. Even simply examining the past proves an impossible feat for the left. Logic says that if an idea fails again and again, it will keep failing, but not in the minds of the socialists. If a liberal idea fails, keep trying until it works. The big government polices of the 1970s, slowed economic growth, tripled inflation, and sent America into a “malaise”. In 1981, Ronald Reagan changed all that. He cut taxes, eased restrictions on businesses, and restored hope in America with his brilliant ability to communicate… and everything turned around. There was tremendous prosperity across the nation. The anti-capitalist left responded by calling the 80s the "decade of greed". That wasn't much of a surprise. After all, anything that's good America is bad for liberals.
The left wants to see everyone dependent on them. I still hear liberals today, dead serious in their conviction that supply-side economics doesn't work. I guess if they want it to triple inflation and slow down economic growth, then yes, I guess it doesn't work. But me, I tend to want to see prosperity. And capitalism brings us just that. It's time for the wealth-hating, big government-loving, psychotic extreme fringe of the left to be disarmed, and back in there parents basement where they belong. |
