Hi. My Name is John, and my Taxes Directly Support Terrorism.
by John Riet
Although I support it, I can see why the port deal with the U.A.E. would make some Americans question the commitment of our government to our national security. Well, let there be no more question in anyone's mind… it couldn't care less about our safety. That became obvious when, despite all of our big talk about refusing aid to a terrorist organization until it changed its attitude toward Israel, the U.S. decided to continue sending money to the Palestinians.
As much as I don't agree with it, I can almost stomach the fact that I'm supporting Americans who won't work and have more kids than they know what to do with. Because at the end of the day, the worst my tax money is doing is giving them an artificial solution to their problems and robbing them of a sense of responsibility. I know with almost unbridled certainty that they won't be using this money to buy materials that will create a bomb and one day blow me up.
Remember… I said, “almost.”
Now my government is about to commit the ultimate act of treason – sending money to an organization whose entire purpose for existence is to eradicate Israel and, when they can fit it in, the United States.
Right now, Hamas and the Palestinians are laughing at us. In this international staring contest, it took only a month for the United States to blink. They must be in total disbelief. It's like when you were a child and told a lie to your parents which they actually believed. After you left the room, a silent verse of, “Holy crap! I can't believe they fell for that” was mouthed by your lips. Right now, the Palestinians are saying, “Holy crap! I can't believe they're going to send us money!” Of course, they're closing with, “Idiots!”
Apparently, our need to be perceived as a humanitarian society supersedes our sense of self-defense. We would rather be thought of as the good guys – those who will always help the less fortunate – regardless of the threat to our citizens or that of our Israeli allies. I think this can only show we have truly become a socialist nation. We are determined to become a liberal country in which the act of charity and a sense of caring is more important than results. As long as we throw money at those who are thought of as “poor,” then that's all that matters.
This sense of charity, this need to feel good about ourselves might just be our undoing. It will certainly end the lives of many Israelis and Americans.
The excuse we receive from the U.S. envoy is that the money will only be sent to those who need it, not the Palestinian government. It's the same philosophy that has caused us, for the past 50 years, to send billions of dollars in aid to Africa. Of course, we know the opposite is what actually happens. Meanwhile, the dictators and terrorists get wealthier, and the people starve.
I'm dying to hear the reason why we think anything will be different this time.
For all of our grandstanding, it turns out that our government is like many of its citizens – all talk. We say we are committed to fighting terrorism, and yet we are now ensuring the survival of one of the most heinous terrorist organizations in the world.
As for myself – I'm now working on the construction of a bomb with which I plan to blow myself up. After all, just because I'm giving money directly to terrorists, why should I make them go to all that trouble?
